Polka Dot Pot Tutorial

As promised for those who needed it, the tutorial on how I polka dotted my flower pots. :) Very simple and fun though I'm not sure how long the painting will last...you may have to repaint them every year or two but hey, that's the fun of it. Change the colors up.

Here's what we're making...

1. Gather up all your ugly pots, clay or plastic...anything that can be spray painted. To keep your hands and arms from being spray painted I pushed a piece of re-bar (or you could use a stick) into the ground and place the pot upside down on it. 2. Now spray paint away. I gave my pots 2-3 coats. Make sure to spray paint the lip of the pot and at least 6" into the pot.

3. For the dots I used the round brushes I picked up from Hobby Lobby. They are approx 1" across. To make a bigger dot brush I took a car wash sponge and used a sour cream lid to draw a circle on it then used a knife and scissors to cut the larger circle out of the sponge. 4. Take your sponge and dip it in the paint, twirling it a little to soak the paint in.

5&6. With a well loaded sponge, press it onto the pot and twirl the brush then pull up to make a clean circle. You have to give the dots two coats for a bright clean look.

8. after (the red pot needs another coat on the dots but you get the idea)

Happy Memorial Day!!

I hope you have had a safe and fun holiday weekend. Don't forget to take a moment to remember those who have blessed us with the freedoms we have today. :) And don't get too hot. ;) My kids have figured out how to keep that from happening.

How is it that he will be 10 this summer? I don't feel old enough to have a child that old........wait a minute, some day's I do. ;) My firstborn love, my big baby. I love him!

Miss Sassy Sue, the perfect middle child that demands no attention but sweetly gets it. Going into first grade with Mommy as her teacher....she loves it and I love her for it. :) She gives me confidence to do it. She believes everything I tell her. When I tell her she can be anything she wants to be, she believes it with all her heart. Sigh....my only girl how I love her!

(and in case Meemaw is wondering why the sad look on B3, he was wanting his life jacket off and then when he seen the camera the look turned even more sour) just one more reason I love him.......he's so cute! He tells me he's 8. lol!

I love my family and am so thankful for those who have sacrificed so that they can be free!! Happy Memorial Day everyone!!
